Château Potensac

The château Potensac has belonged to the family Delon for several centuries. This famous family of Bordeaux also owns the Château Léoville Las Cases, in Saint-Julien and the Château Nénin, in Pomerol. Located in Ordonnac, in the appellation Médoc, the château Potensac produced a great wine and a second wine called “La Chapelle de Potensac”. The appellation Médoc is unknown, but has an exceptional diversity, thanks to its soil and all its different varieties of vines. The château Potensac produces wines in the most authentic style of the Médoc’s wines. The great wine of the château is more suited for aging than most of the other wines of the appellation. The large volume of production of the château does not affect the quality of the wine, always very regular. The average age of the vines is 30 years. The wines are made from cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and carmenère. This type of vine was decimated by the phylloxera, but it is now re-used and becomes more and more popular because it brings a lot of roundness and character to the wines.
